In one class, 200 students admitted to cheating, not by writing a formula on their hand or by scribbling some notes on their desk (which would be bad enough) but by stealing the questions for the midterm exam — or, at the very least, acquiring and possessing the stolen questions. Wow!
In light of this incident, I have two question for you:
1. What do you think of the professor’s response?
2. What can professors do both (i) to discourage students from cheating and (ii) to catch those who do?
