The Fourth Annual USF Graduate Philosophy Conference “Ipseity & Alterity: Dialectics and Distances between Self and Other”
March 4th & 5th, 2011

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Thomas Flynn (Emory University): “Sartre and Merleau-Ponty on the Dialectic”
We are also pleased to announce a faculty address by Dr. Charles Guignon (University of South Florida)
We are accepting papers from graduate students working on a constellation of issues pertaining to and incorporating selfhood, otherness, intersubjectivity, agency, freedom, dialectics (Hegelian or otherwise), and phenomenology among others. Papers must be suitable for blind review and should not exceed 3000 words (20-25 minute reading time).
Please send two separate files [.pdf, .doc, or .docx formats only please] (i) one containing only the body of your paper with no identifying information and (ii) another with a title, abstract, contact information, and institutional affiliation to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Conference venue: Tampa and the surrounding St. Petersburg/Clearwater areas provide a nice reason to extend your trip of Florida. Besides the conference, be ready to enjoy temperatures in the 70s, the beaches, and summer-like conditions in early March.
