There is an upcoming conference on pragmatism at FAU. The conference, “Human Nature and Self: Pragmatist Theory from European Perspectives,” will take place on Thursday, March 20, from 2 to 5 PM, in the Majestic Palm Room B of Florida Atlantic University’s main campus.
Hans-Peter Krueger, Professor of Practical Philosophy at the University of Potsdam, Germany, will present a paper entitled, “On Human Nature: John Dewey‘s and Helmut Plessner’s Philosophical Anthropologies.”
Kacper Bartczak (poet, critic, and Professor of American Studies at the University of Lodz, Poland) will speak on “Self-creation and Creative Strategies in Neo-pragmatist Philosophy and the Poetry of John Ashbery.”
